Paul Rhoades Executed in Idaho

The state of Idaho executed Paul Ezra Rhoades on November 18, 2011. Paul was pronounced dead at 9:15 am local time inside the execution chamber at the Idaho Maximum Security Institute in Kuna, Idaho. Paul was 54 years of age. He was executed for three separate kidnappings and murders. The victims were identified as 21-year-old Stacy Dawn Baldwin who was murdered on February 28, 1987; 23-year-old Nolan Haddon who was murdered on March 17, 1987; and 34-year-old Susan Michaelbacher who was murdered on March 19, 1987.
Stacy was kidnapped from Blackfoot, Idaho, Nolan was kidnapped from Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Susan was also kidnapped from Idaho Falls, Idaho. Stacy and Susan were also raped. Paul confessed to the murder of Susan but denied having any part in the deaths of Stacy and Nolan. The last 23 years of Paul’s life were spent on Idaho’s death row.
Paul suffered polio as a child. He began drinking at the age of 10, and dropped out of high school as a teen. As an adult, Paul became addicted to methamphetamine and alcohol.
