Focus Verse For Today: 1 John 3:11
Today, our journey takes us through 1 John 1-3. This letter is written by the Apostle John. This letter was likely written near the end of John’s life. John maintained his zeal for Christ throughout his life and is believed to be the longest-living eyewitness to Jesus Christ.
Before reading, stop and pray, asking that the Lord provide understanding of 1 John 1-3. Read 1 John 1-3. Let’s journey!
1 John 1-3: God’s Word, His promises, are eternal. Some have already been fulfilled, others have not, but there should be no doubt that they will be fulfilled. Sin is in all of us, but Jesus Christ sacrificed Himself so that we could be saved. Anyone who denies Christ is not saved. Our love for Christ and our love for others should be evident in our lives. (1 John 1:1-3:24)
Our focus verses for today:
11 For this is the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another.
(1 John 3:11, NIV)
This verse reflects back to the many teachings of Jesus, in which He instructed on the importance of love. We should not become distracted and lose that focus in our lives. Everywhere Jesus went, He showed love. John loved Jesus and attempted to show the same love in his life. Don’t allow distractions to take your focus off love!
