DAY 200: JOURNEY THROUGH THE BIBLE IN A YEAR

Today we journey through Psalm 84-86.  The author’s of today’s Psalms are not recorded.

Ask God to give you His understanding of Psalms 84-86. Read Psalm 84-86. Let’s journey!

PsalmsAs we journey through the third book of Psalms, remember that nearly every psalm can be classified as a psalm of Lament or a psalm of praise. A lament is a cry to the Lord, asking Him to do something, most often when we are in pain, confused, or angry. A psalm of praise is a prayer of joy and celebration, thanking the Lord for His work.

Psalm 84-86: The Psalmist asks God to help him to experience more of God’s glory. This would allow the Psalmist to have a deeper understanding of and love for God. The Psalmist speaks of God’s unconditional, unfailing love; love, in that God continues to forgive and restore Israel for their sin. The Psalmist asks God for that forgiveness and restoration one more time. (Psalms 84:1-86:17)

Read chapters 84-86, and ask yourself these questions: Are these psalms of lament or praise? How do you know? What does this psalm teach you about God? Take a moment and offer up to God at least one praise and one lament from your own life.
