The state of Arizona carried out the execution of Richard Lynn Bible on June 30, 2011. Richard was pronounced dead at 11:11 am local time, inside the execution chamber at the Central Unit of the Arizona State Prison Complex – Florence in Florence, Arizona. Richard was 49 years of age. He was executed for the kidnapping, rape, and murder of nine-year-old Jennifer Marie Wilson on June 6, 1988, in Flagstaff, Arizona. Richard spent the last 21 years of his life on Arizona’s death row.

As an adult, Richard frequently used drugs and alcohol. On the day of Jennifer’s murder, Richard was drunk and experiencing withdrawal symptoms from not using drugs for several days. Approximately one year before Jennifer’s murder, Richard had been released from prison after serving a six-year sentence for kidnapping and sexual assault.
