Frank GarciaThe state of Texas executed Frank Marinez Garcia on October 27, 2011. Frank was pronounced dead at 7:02 pm local time, inside the Walls Unit execution chamber at the Huntsville State Penitentiary in Huntsville, Texas. Frank was 39 years of age. He was convicted and executed for the murder of his wife, 21-year-old Jessica Garcia, and 48-year-old police officer Hector Garza on February 29, 2001, in San Antonio, Texas. Frank and Jessica’s five-year-old daughter witnessed the murders. Jessica’s uncle was also injured in the attack. Franks spent the last nine years of his life on Texas’ death row.

Frank had dropped out of high school in the 12th grade, at the age of 22, and worked as a truck driver, auto mechanic, auto body painter, and laborer. Frank identified as belonging to a gang that police believed engaged in drive-by shootings, drug dealing, aggravated assaults, and other felonies. Jessica had previously reported that she had been physically and emotionally abused.

Please pray for peace and healing for the family of Jessica. Please pray for the family of Frank. Frank expressed his belief in salvation through Jesus Christ as part of his final words.
