Reginald Brooks Executed in Ohio
Reginald Brooks, Ohio
The state of Ohio executed Reginald Brooks on November 15, 2011. Reginald was pronounced dead at 2:04 pm local time, inside the execution chamber at the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility in Mansfield, Ohio. His execution was delayed for several hours. Reginald was 66 years of age. He was executed for murdering his three sons, 17-year-old Reginald Brooks, Jr., 15-year-old Vaughn Brooks, and 11-year-old Niarchos Brooks, on March 6, 1982, in their Cleveland, Ohio home. The planned triple murder occurred two days after Reginald’s wife served him with divorce papers. Reginald spent the last 28 years of his life on Ohio’s death row.
Reginald allegedly suffered from paranoid schizophrenia, which he claims led to the murders. He quit his job in 1976, causing stress and tension in his family to rise. It was later discovered that Reginald had stolen items from his family and pawned them. He also became violent with his family.
Please pray for peace and healing for the Brooks family.
