The state of Arizona carried out the execution of Donald Edward Beaty on May 25, 2011. Donald was pronounced dead at 7:38 pm local time, inside the execution chamber at the Central Unit of the Arizona State Prison Complex in Florence, Arizona.  His execution was delayed for several hours due to appeals.  Donald was 56 years of age. He was executed for the sexual assault and murder of 13-year-old Christy Ann Fornoff on May 9, 1984, in Tempe, Arizona. Donald spent the last 26 years of his life on Arizona’s death row.

Before his arrest, Donald worked as a maintenance man at the apartment where he and the victim lived.
