Psalms 90-92: Pose a simple question: what are we doing with the life God has given us? How many years do we have? Are we serving God with them? Are we curious why the unbeliever flourishes while the believer struggles? These questions are posed in our reading for today. The answer is also given. Seek God with all your heart. (Psalms 90:1-92:15)
Our focus verse for today:
Teach us to number our days,
that we may gain a heart of wisdom.
(Psalm 90:12, NIV)
The Psalmist is not asking God for an orderly accounting of his days. He is asking God to help him organize his days, his time, his life, in a manner that is pleasing to God. The Psalmist knows that a life ordered to God’s will is a life blessed with God’s wisdom. How is your life ordered?
